Windows Legacy Project

This year, on May 31st, the Feast of the Visitation, our parish celebrates its 180th anniversary. To commemorate the wonder of this great event, our parish has chosen to launch a window replacement legacy project to celebrate the gift of our church and the impact it has had (and continues to have) on the lives of our ever-growing parish family.

The new windows will feature clear, energy-efficient commercial glass on the exterior and stained-glass “Women Saint” themes on the lower interior windows. Recognizing the parish’s diverse membership, significant time has been spent reflecting on the various cultures and traditions represented in the parish as of 2025. These saints, selected from Poland, Peru, Sudan, Israel, Canada, Ireland, Albania, and France, highlight aspects of the cultural diversity within the parish. Our parish remains vibrant and relevant today due to its rich cultural fabric.

Our parish has chosen to honour women saints, which is quite unique since most parishes focus either on the life of Christ (which is wonderful), or on a wider selection of popular saints when it comes to immortalizing individuals by way of stained-glass. Since our parish is named after the two women cousins who sought solace and prayer together in tough times, it is fitting to make women saints a focus for our parish. These women have been carefully studied from their own unique perspective. They bring values like kindness, compassion, tolerance and service to the fore and in so doing inspire us, as they undoubtedly did the people of their day, to serve our Lord and neighbour with heart mind and soul.
