Restoration

Over the past several years, hundreds of dedicated volunteers have been involved in a dramatic restoration effort at Our Lady of the Visitation, with a commitment to preserving the beauty and history of the church while performing the necessary upgrades throughout the church. The major efforts in the church have included:

  • Floor Restoration
  • Heating System Upgrades
  • Balcony Restoration
  • Sacristy Restoration
  • New Roof
  • Repair and restoration of the Bell Tower and Steeple
  • Exterior Stonework Restoration
  • New Church Doors

In 1999, Our Lady of the Visitation Parish began the planning and fundraising for a major project that encompassed the renovations to the church, the building of a new rectory, the replacement of the church roof, and the building of a parish hall with parish offices and a banquet facility. Parishioners and friends of the parish have contributed time, talent and funding to plan and complete these projects.

The rectory was completed in 2008, the church roof was installed a year later and the parish hall opened on May 1, 2010. This was accomplished through prayer and teamwork. Both continue the process of keeping us in tune with our faith and the times.

In the years that followed, the church loft (balcony) was renovated and new stairs were built. The roof was replaced and the steeple and bell tower were repaired. More recently the restoration focused on the exterior stonework of the church. New church doors were installed in 2022.

Our Lady of the Visitation Celebrating the Past provides an outline of the parish construction and recent restoration projects.
