He attended St. John the Apostle, Frank Ryan and St. Pius X High School. He has an undergraduate degree and a Master’s degree from Carleton University.

While pursuing further studies, he met the vocation director for the Archdiocese of Ottawa who convinced him to apply to the seminary. Father Geoff studied theology at St Augustine Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood on June 7th, 2003.

He was assigned as Assistant Pastor at St. Patrick Parish in Fallowfield, where he served with Father Tom Riopelle for twenty-two months before being transferred to St. Leonard Parish in Manotick where he served as pastor. During this time, he was also involved in the Vocations Ministry. Archbishop Prendergast asked if he would be open to further studies in liturgy. Father Geoff studied at the Liturgical Institute at the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois where he earned a licentiate in sacred theology in 2012.

Upon his return to Ottawa, the archbishop assigned him to be the Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Services (English Sector) where he served for 8 years. During this time, Father Geoff was also the Vice Rector of Notre Dame Cathedral and served in parishes temporarily as needed when a parish was between pastors due to an unexpected development. He served one year as Rector of Notre Dame Cathedral before working for Archbishop Damphousse as his Executive Assistant for two years when he was made the full-time administrator of Our Lady of the Visitation Parish in June of 2023. Father Geoff has served on many committees and is involved in teaching liturgy and sacraments in the Permanent Diaconate Formation Program as well as formation for the vocation to consecrated virginity.
